LEAP TESTING: Students, it is extremely important that you are on time to school and present every day of testing. You should be in your testing sites by 8:00 a.m. each morning. Remember — if you are present, on time, and have no discipline concerns for each day of testing, you may dress down at no cost to you on Wednesday, April 16 and Thursday, April 17. Let's go Spartans!

Reminder: No backpacks during testing. Lunchboxes and small purses are allowed. Students should report directly to their testing location when arriving to school. Spartans will LEAP to success and show what they know! You've got this!

HUGE congrats to our amazing YDMS Band students! 🎉 We took 36 talented musicians to Solo & Ensemble, and an incredible 28 of them earned a SUPERIOR rating in either their solo or ensemble performance! 🤩 What an outstanding achievement – we're so proud of your hard work and dedication! 🎶 #YDMSBand #SoloAndEnsemble #SuperiorRating #ProudBandDirector #MusicEducation

This week, we celebrate National Assistant Principals Week, and it's the perfect time to recognize the amazing contributions of Mr. Amidon and Mrs. Ferguson! Principal Edwards is absolutely right - the countless hours and hard work they invest often go unseen, but they are the backbone of our school's success. Let's make sure they feel the love this week with a kind word, deed, or action. Their dedication truly shapes our students' experience! ❤️ #NationalAssistantPrincipalsWeek #APpreciation

‼️ Attendance is REQUIRED to try out for Highsteppers ‼️

LEAP TESTING STARTS NEXT WEEK!
We are excited for our students' hard work to show on their LEAP Tests! Our students (grades 6, 7, & 8) will participate in state-mandated LEAP 2025 testing April 9th - April 15th. Testing will begin promptly each morning. Students should plan to get a good night's sleep, eat a good breakfast in the morning, and prepare to do their best! Please make arrangements to ensure that your student attends school each day and is on time for these very important school days. Our first bell rings at 7:55. Students are expected to be in class and ready to test by 8:00. Students will not be allowed to check out from school until after school-wide testing is completed each day.
All electronic devices (cell phones, smart watches, ear buds, headphones, etc.) will be collected from students before testing and will be returned to students at the end of each school day. We encourage students to leave electronic devices at home during testing. Failure to follow our school-wide electronic device policy for testing will result in disciplinary action. Jackets and sweaters may be worn during testing, but cannot have pockets or hoods. No backpacks are allowed during testing. Small lunch boxes and small purses are allowed.
We look forward to a successful Spring 2025 Leap Test. We appreciate your support as we work to ensure our students' success!
